Since May 14th, when the exco took over the leadership of NAISS, there was an empty and inaccessible account. Funds were sourced from Excos, various alumni within and outside Imo State, staff advisers, and capable members who supported without hassle. These funds were utilized for congressses, programs like last semester’s hangout, where we were the first state association under FIS to host a hangout last semester, and then our recent seminar.Benefits of paying dues and being a financial member were highlighted, including having emergency funds to assist members and representing NAISS outside OAU.The President said the due is set at 500 per semester and 1000 per session.Chidimma Iwuoha, the Vice President reminded the President that in the previous meeting, it was agreed upon to set dues at 2000 per session due to various considerations like transportation costs, emergency funds, and end-of-semester welfarism. The President asked for the Congress’s opinion on whether to maintain 1000 or increase to 2000 per session.Amarachi Dorah supported 2000, stating that other associations pay more than 2000.Ekezie Joy, the Financial Secretary, agreed that 2000 is acceptable, emphasizing the need for funds for future programs and events. She suggested the option to pay twice, i.e. 1000 per semester.Nkemjika Joy, the Alumni Coordinator, also supported the 2000 dues, emphasizing the benefits of being a financial member.Ikenna Nzekwe said that 2000 is a fair amount.Chidimma Iwuoha, the Vice President stated that paying dues creates a sense of commitment to the association. She urged everyone not to ignore the Financial Secretary’s text messages when it’s time for due payments.Ikechukwu Divine suggested subsidizing part 1 dues and proposed that the excos pay a bit more to compensate for the subsidy.Uwalaka Comfort disagreed, mentioning the diversity in members’ financial capabilities and advocated for keeping the due at 2000.Chibuike Nwaejiogu supported 2000 for stalites but suggested subsidizing fresher’s dues.Nkemjika Joy, the Alumni Coordinator, disagreed, stating the importance of setting standards for freshers.Amarachi Dorah supported Joy’s stance.Obi Uchenna Dos suggested 1000 per session, considering members’ other responsibilities not to burden them.Ikenna Nzekwe advocated for equality within the organization, suggesting everyone should pay a standard amount.Joy, the Alumni Coordinator, mentioned that only financial members can contest for a position in NAISS.Ekezie Joy the Financial secretary highlighted special packages for financial members. After deliberation, majority agreed on maintaining the sessional dues at 2000, and the President announced the commencement of dues payment.                Official Election of DOS:In the absence of any other nomination, Obi Uchenna acting Dos is nominated.Uchenna accepts the nomination.Uchenna swears the oath of office and is sweared in as the DOS.Planning our next program for the semester:Ekezie Joy, the Financial Secretary, suggested conducting two programs (welfare and quiz) on the same day, primarily in Igbo, with a slight allowance for English. She recommended holding these events before the lecture-free week.Ikechukwu Divine also proposed conducting both programs on the same day, allowing some English alongside Igbo. he stressed that proficiency in Igbo would earn participants marks.Amarachi Dorah suggested the program should be conducted solely in Igbo, considering the cash prize and making it worthwhile.Chibuike Nwaejiogu suggested incorporating Igbo but taking into account individuals born and raised outside the eastern region, like Lagos.Obi Uchenna, the Dos, emphasized fairness and the importance of active participation, stating that involvement in activities would determine rewards. The President also suggested incorporating Igbo while allowing a bit of English.Nomination of planning committee:Ogbuehi Dillion suggested the committee should comprise the excos rather than floor members.Amarachi Dorah disagreed with Ogbuehi Dillion, advocating for the committees to consist of floor members rather than the excos. The President proposed a three-person committee comprising himself, the DOS, and nominated members.Amarachi Dorah, Edith Umunmake, and Chiamaka Nwalo were nominated for the planning committee. Amarachi Dorah was appointed as the committee chair, Edith Umunnakwe as the Gen. Sec., and Chiamaka Nwalo as the Welfare Director. The President urged anyone who knew individuals from Imo State(lecturers, workers, traders, or students) that will be interested in the Imo State program.Activeness of Members:The president urged everyone to be active both in the group and physically. The VP adjourned the congress to the next one and Amarachi Dorah seconded it.Closing prayer was done by Chiamaka Nwalo. The Congress ended exactly 5:10 PM. βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–E- Signed:✍️✍️✍️Ogbuehi Clement Ugochukwu (President )Ekeh Jasmine (Secretary General) AnnouncerAgbaegbu Chinedu (PRO) βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–βž–©οΈ IGBO KWENU!!!

Goodwill Message From NAISS OAU President Ogbuehi Clement Ugochukwu For A Progressive Congress

πŸ“ŒπŸ“ŒπŸ“ŒπŸ“ŒπŸ“ŒπŸ“ŒπŸ“ŒπŸ“ŒGood afternoon Ndi nkem NAISS ❀️I urge each and everyone of us to be in attendance tomorrow for our Congress.  Apart from the aforementioned Agendas we have alot to discuss(AOB) regarding our personal Welfare and general  welfare on this campus as brothers and sisters. Since I and my EXCOS took over the mantle of leadership of NAISS on May 14th 2023, we have unarguably transformed NAISS into becoming the leading, best and progressive State association under FIS recognised at DSA and on campus! We have have achieved alot for this association,  helped most of our members and there are lots more to come this semester and next semester too( this will be succinctly discussed tomorrow). Our last Congress last semester when we were about 30+ on this group we had in attendance only 16 students which was so poor. Right now, only on this undergraduate group apart from the general group, we have 105 members strictly from Imo State. Since I’ve been an active member in Igbo activities during my part 1 days, there is always this notion that members are only active on the page but when there is Congress/programs most of us will choose not to attend it which is very appalling. If this is a "yoke," it must be broken in NAISS, Isee! There is a saying that; "when one wants to do something, he or she must do it, but if you won’t, then you give an excuse"..... 2hours 30 minutes can’t make you ungodly, fail your exams or commit a big sin( for those that will say they have church program from morning till evening) just because you attended a "family meeting" which is aimed towards the betterment of you and every of our member. *I’ve more to say tomorrow but for now, please I want to see an encouraging number of us tomorrow. No African time biko nu so we can finish early and get back home*  Safe journey tomorrow and Ya gaziere nu oge nile! Ogbuehi Clement UgochukwuIgwe Ugonnaya 1 of FIS. President (NAISS OAU chapter).

NAISS OAU Successfully Registered The Association, Open A Bank Account & Corporate Website On Campus

πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF IMO STATE STUDENTS, OAU CHAPTER.Email: naissoau@gmail.comInstagram:naissoauFacebook: naissoau24th October, 2023. NAISS kwenu!NAISS kwenu!!DEVELOPMENTS SO FAR.....1) Our Association website: As promised by the President; Ogbuehi Clement Ugochukwu, and the efforts of all other EXCOS, first of its kind in the history of National Association of Imo State Students, on October 1st 2023, naiss.oauife.edu.ng was hosted( became available for viewing online). All thanks to one of our selfless, vibrant and great Alumni, Comrade Emmanuel Nnaemeka Vitus who we reached out to regardless of his busy schedule, voluntarily built our website in conjunction with Venworld Global from scratch free of charge and went ahead to settle all payments regarding linking the website to OAU domain. A wonderful achievement so far. It will be duly launched on the day of our seminar/Freshers orientation (date to be communicated soonest). 2) Renewal of Registration: For an association to be freely recognised on campus, it must be registered. For an association to host big events on campus, it must be registered and for an association to come to the need of any of its members in their different departments or faculties, it must be certified at DSA. With all these and lots of more benefits embedded in registering an association, after much efforts providing all documents needed for the renewal of registration of our association, on the 10th of July, a certificate of registration was issued which clearly certifies our association as a legal and authentic association on campus. 3) Bank account: The former bank account of our association was unaccessible as a result of the unavailability of the signatories to the account. All efforts proved futile. As a result of this, it was concluded during our last Congress last semester that a new bank account should be opened for easy and transparent management of the association finances. It is with good news that on Tuesday, 18th of July 2023, we were able to open an account with United bank of Africa (UBA) and right now, our bank account is active and ready to be fed with funds! (Account name: National Association of Imo State Students OAU chapter. Account number: 2308016417. Bank name: United Bank of Africa; UBA). Sincere appreciation goes to God for the success thus far, to our staff advisers, our Alumni, our selfless and smart working president and vice president, other erudite EXCOS and the members of the association in general. Be active in NAISS, identify with your root, here and after our stay on campus, it matters alot! Expect a greater NAISS this session.NAISS KWEZUONU OO!!!!Signed ✍️Ogbuehi Clement Ugochukwu(President)Iwuoha Chidimma( Vice president) AnnouncerπŸ“’Agbaegbu Chinedu (PRO)

He mentioned meeting with Mr. IBe, a part adviser, on Friday, May 12th, as well as scheduling a meeting with Dr. Amaka Imodi on Wednesday, May 17th. The President also expressed gratitude for the unwavering support received from alumni and past presidents, emphasizing their commitment to revitalizing our association, NAISS.State of the Association:The President announced that the constitution had undergone a thorough review. He commended the Constitution Review Committee for their dedicated efforts and the overnight sessions they devoted to this task. The President further discussed plans to renew our registration with the DSA, aiming to attain full-fledged association status. He invited everyone to share their ideas on how best to achieve this goal. During the discussion, Joy emphasized the requirements for DSA registration, stating that signatures from three different staff advisers were necessary. Comrade Ven added that the requirements were straightforward, including obtaining a website from the ICT department and creating a comprehensive database containing all our members residing in different hostels. Joy suggested removing graduated members from the current database rather than creating a new one. Chigozie raised a query about whether our association had a functional bank account. He also proposed creating a flyer to promote NAISS among students from Imo State. The President expressed appreciation for the valuable ideas shared. He announced that a Google Docs file would be created to collect members’ biodata.Financial Status:The President revealed that NAISS currently did not possess a functional bank account. Joy suggested that the President, General Secretary, and Financial Secretary visit banks to open an account. Chigozie countered, stating that only the President and Financial Secretary should handle this task. Chinedu emphasized the need to appoint a Financial Secretary before the next session begins. The President expressed gratitude for the contributions and suggestions, highlighting that the registration with DSA and the opening of a new bank account would be scheduled during the upcoming holidays. This decision was made due to time constraints caused by the approaching lecture-free week and examinations.Dues:The President informed all members that the Executive Council had decided on an annual due of 1000 naira per session from each member. The welfare of our Members:The President urged everyone not to hesitate in reaching out to any of the executives for assistance with any issue they might encounter.Nominations for Assistant General Secretary (AGS), Alumni Coordinator, and Financial Secretary:Chidinma proposed appointing a trusted Financial Secretary immediately, without waiting for the next session. Joy emphasized the importance of not imposing a post on anyone. Samuel nominated Joy for the position of Financial Secretary, which was seconded by Chinedu. Haniel Iwoha also nominated Joy for the role, and she graciously accepted the nomination. Joy suggested that the Alumni Coordinator should possess a good understanding of the Igbo language and effective communication skills. The President raised the question of electing a willing person who is currently not in Ife. Joy proposed organizing another congress that this person could attend. Comrade Ven reminded everyone that the constitution had not yet been adopted. The President proceeded to adopt the newly reviewed constitution, which was seconded by Samuel. With unanimous agreement, the constitution was officially accepted by all members. Comrade Ven then read Article 3, Section 3.4, Subsection 8, Number 8 of the Constitution. However, Samuel pointed out that it would be inappropriate to nominate an individual without someone vouching for their credibility. Joy Nkemjika proposed the idea of electing two individuals for each position to ensure a collaborative effort. Haniel Iwoha disagreed, stating that having two people in one position would be cumbersome, and suggested convening another congress on the following Sunday.Joy Ekezie nominated Joy Nkemjika for the position of Alumni Coordinator, which was seconded by Chinedu. Comrade Ven emphasized the significance of the role and assured Joy Nkemjika that she could decline the nomination if she had any doubts or reservations. Haniel Iwoha also nominated Joy Nkemjika for the role, and she graciously accepted the position. The President then highlighted the importance of the Assistant General Secretary (AGS) being proficient in the Igbo language. Chinemerem confidently nominated herself for the AGS role, which was supported by Samuel and seconded by Chinedu. Joy Ekezie brought attention to the absence of a disciplinary committee. She emphasized that the nominated executives should not feel pressured to assume positions they might struggle to handle effectively. At 5:30 PM, the nominated executives stood up to take an oath of allegiance to NAISS. The President discussed the future plans and agenda for the association, including opening a new bank account, collaborating with alumni on a bursary program, organizing seminars and cultural events, and establishing a scholarship initiative. He stressed the need for unity among members to accomplish these objectives and proposed sharing the group link to reach a wider audience. Comrade Ven raised a concern about the Financial Secretary position being held by a final-year student. Joy Ekezie assured everyone that she was currently in her second year.Any Other Business (AOB):Joy Nkemjika expressed her view that the 1000 naira per session dues were insufficient. She suggested increasing it to 200 Naira per week to ensure the association had adequate funds for emergencies and to prevent members from facing financial challenges.,The President responded, stating that while challenges were not anticipated, it would be impractical to require members to pay 200 Naira per week. Joy Ekezie supported the President’s stance, acknowledging that the 1000 naira dues were reasonable. She proposed that the amount could be reviewed and potentially increased in the future. ,Haniel suggested setting the dues at 1000 naira per semester, to which Chinemerem agreed. After a vote, it was decided that the dues would be set at 1000 naira per semester, equivalent to 2000 naira per session. Comrade Ven generously donated 5000 Naira towards the cause of NAISS.,Conclusion:The President extended his gratitude to everyone present and encouraged them to consider the association their home. With no further business to discuss, the President adjourned the congress until May 21st, 2023, which was seconded by Joy Ekezie. The congress concluded with a closing prayer led by Comrade Ven at 6:11 PM. SIGNED BYNAISS OAU EXECUTIVE COUNCILNAISS OAU, IGWE BU IKE πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ

In Igbo, there is a saying that " ekele onye akidi, ya emee ozo". Culturally and vitally, I  want to use this opportunity to thank all members of NAISS for our presence and efforts towards the hangout which was held yesterday 2nd of June, 2023. It was our first-ever hangout session and it was filled with fun, interactive and educative sessions, especially towards the customs, traditions and practices of our culture and our welfare here on campus. It was a bid for all members to come together, know one another, interact with one another, learn about Igbo culture and the need to socialize and get involved in any affairs concerning NAISS and Igbos in general both in OAU and beyond. To all the members present during the hangout, may God bless and keep you all.
